4/1/2023 0 Comments Dapper den![]() Most people will be happy with a quick fade (which you will get here) but for the people looking for something extra special I did not find this to be that place. When I did try to politely voice my frustrations, he gets insulted!! He did not take the criticism well and it made me feel awkward to say the least. So now I cant accurately judge the cut because its all slicked. Before I could look at the haircut because my back was turned away from the mirror the whole time, he adds product to my hair! First time Ive never been asked do you want product in your hair?. First barber I have ever went to who took clippers to the top of my head and then used the scissor for maybe 10 snips (I was very clear I wanted the length longer in the front, but by the time he used the clippers most of the length was gone anyways). Jared sped through my hair in 15 mins (I have a lot of hair) probably trying to make sure not to get backed up because he tried to squeeze in a friend of his on my time. This review is to make sure my textured hair CT transplants have a heads up. I do however believe for all non textured hair individuals the experience will be 5 star. ![]() I couldn’t give the establishment a 1 star rating because truthfully if I had read the reviews thoroughly I wouldn’t have went. Kisco and walked into a more diverse barbershop setting and was in and out in 30 minutes. You can’t help but feel that If my sons hair was of a “Greater American” texture we may have been treated differently. I wouldn’t do it for any amount of lateness. I run a large establishment and would never grandstand one of my customers in front of other customers regarding a 15 minute lateness which was communicated and approved. However, the truth is compliance is not the issue, it’s just an excuse. I reiterated to him that lateness is unacceptable and noncompliance gives others an excuse to treat you differently. ![]() Reparations of some sort. All in all it was a great lesson for my son and myself as a father of a young textured hair boy. Obviously I won’t be returning to the establishment to redeem the free haircut but it was a nice gesture after grandstanding us in front of a barber shop of already piercingly judge mental eyes. ![]() Jared did offer my son a free hair cut for another time after further inquiry from myself as to how and why the miscommunication transpired. My son was very fussy that morning and didn’t want to get his hair cut anyway so the best thing to do was to leave. As it turns out Joe was mistaken and he would be set back from upcoming appointments due to him not having experience with the “texture” of my sons hair and our late arrival. Jared proceeded to tell us that they would not be able to do “this” today. When we arrived at 10:16 another gentleman Jared, as we are walking through the door asked if we were the 10 am. On the day of our appointment we were running 15 minutes behind so I called Joe and let him know we were running late and would be there 15 minutes late, I asked if that was ok. Joe sounded new as the person who generally answers the phone at successful barbershops usually are. We booked an appointment with dapper don one day in advance and spoke to a young man named Joe at the establishment. We recently moved to CT from the wonderful town of Mt Kisco.
